Hello.
Is this thing on? I hope so.
This is the start of something new for me. I've always been a fan of history. In high school, I was reading about the Punic Wars, when I stopped and said to myself, "This is interesting. I've gotta read more about this." From there I consumed books, articles, audiobooks and documentaries about history. I guess I picked up a few interesting facts along the way. A couple of years ago, I was discussing the Civil War with an acquaintance. He told me, "You know quite a bit. You should teach history."
I'm more of a writer than a public speaker, but somehow I never got around to writing about history. I've decided to change that with this newsletter.
What most people know about history is limited to what they learned in textbooks. The problem is that most textbooks (and courses) only give a wide overview of history. Usually the interesting details are left out. I hope to fix that by sharing interesting historical details in an easily digestible size. If you join this newsletter, you'll learn about the two paddelwheel aircraft carriers that steamed around the Great Lakes during World War II; and the heretic pharaoh who the Egyptians tried to erase from all historical records. And there is much more.
I'm also starting this newsletter for another reason: to earn some extra cash to help cover my student loans and other bills. I won't be activating that feature until I'm a couple of months in to build up readership. But if you can't afford to sign up, don't worry, most of these posts will always be free.
With all that being said, I hope you give me a chance and enjoy my content.
Thanks.
