Why subscribe?

In the many years of human history, there have been many fascinating events and facts. However, most history books don’t have the space (or maybe the interest) to cover the interesting bits. That’s why I’m starting this newsletter. If you are interested in history, hit that subscribe button (after you enter your email address, of course).

Who are You?

Me. I, dear reader, am your humble host. According to my driver’s license, my name is John Paul Wohlscheid. I’ve been a history buff since grade school. This will be my first attempt to write about history.

This, however, is not my first time writing stuff. I’ve self-published several ebooks, mainly noir detective stories. I’ve also writing about technology, specifically open-source software, for over 5 years. You can find the bulk of my writing on the topic on It’s FOSS. I also have my own tech blog named GitPi.US. On top of that, I’ve created a couple of games.

You can find me on GAB, Minds, MeWe, GitHub, GitLab, and Reddit. Feel free to drop me a line.

How Often Will This Newsletter be Published?

That’s a good question. I have a habit of working on too many projects at a time. I’m going to try to publish bi-weekly, but I can’t make any guarantees.

Will You Charge for This Newsletter?

One of the reasons I’m creating this newsletter is to earn some extra money to pay my bills. I plan to charge, but not right away. For now, you can support me here.
